Goals - Focus - Passion

“My goal is to improve every time I teach. My focus is to increase my experience and knowledge in all aspects of the modality I love and practice, and continue learning by sharing what has helped me most. Offering private classes has enabled me to teach more often, gaining greater experience & development. My passion for this modality is strong and continues to grow with every sole I’m privileged to share it with.”

RIding motorcycles for 30+ years has given me so many skills that have enhanced my learning and teaching barefoot massage. Many aspects of motorcycle riding parallel the skills needed to provide Ashiatsu, and the mental ability to practice with diligence until an autonomic response has evolved has been a great foundation for teaching this modality to others.

Keeping active and engaging consciousness to ground my 'soles' is an important part of my daily life. I truly believe there is no end to what one can learn, and keeping active helps me to recycle lessons into teachings. A never-ending, mutually beneficial cycle, that I'm grateful to share.

After graduating from massage school in Utah in 2003, Brenda worked in a wellness center, specializing in sports massage. She wanted to experience working as a therapist in resorts, and Vegas became an ideal option. Starting in 2004, Brenda worked as a massage therapist at Spa Bellagio, (the Las Vegas Hotel Casino), where she originally learned Ashiatsu & fell in love with it. It was during her Bellagio years that the true & many benefits of providing Ashiatsu were proven to her. The impact of providing hand modalities up to 10 hours per day, every day, was creating too much strain on her shoulders and arms. The days spent providing barefoot massage were not just easier, but much more efficient for her and more effective for her clients.

In 2007 Brenda began instructing for the Deepfeet Bar Therapy /Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy company. In 2010, Brenda had moved from Nevada to Wyoming, where ‘Bare Your Sole’ was born. As the name suggests, it’s all about the journey one begins by learning Ashiatsu. The reality that evolving barefoot massage methods, techniques, and efficiency was a strong necessity began the next foot of her Ashiatsu journey: not long after her move, she left the Deepfeet company to expand her skills, extend her knowledge, and apply logistics to create greater harmony between structural techniques, the luxurious feel, and the specific set-ups that make the modality even more spectacular to give and receive. The door for sharing the passion, truth, possibilities, and options had finally swung wide open. This ancient modality is now constantly evolving for the modern therapist and client.

For the last several years, Brenda has worked diligently - solely dedicating her time to teaching this unique, effective modality. With every effort, she is committed to updating information, improving quality, & offering more options for clients and therapists, all while offering the highest quality education at the most reasonable cost possible.

The main goal for Southwest Ashiatsu (dba Bare Your Sole) is to create an avenue for massage therapists to enrich and lengthen their careers so they can love their work as much as their clients do.
